Well, I do see your point but it is a bit hard to not be upset when someone who you have paid a lot of money to does something that breaks the way you have successfully been doing things. It is worse if that breakage is intentional (that has yet to be determined if I read things correctly). I have generally liked the Paramount ME and generally liked TheSkyX but sooner or later I will probably buy another mount just to get something more modern (this is my 4th of this size in 20 years). Lack of interest in pleasing customers that use ASCOM and 3rd party software would be enough to convince me to buy something from a company that is more flexible. I think that most other users would feel the same way.
I am kinda reminded of Apple's apparent decision to get rid of the audio jack in the next iPhone. Although I use a Nexus, I have to wonder if that would make me think twice about an iPhone.
As others have said, I hope this is just an error or oversight on the part of SB. Time will tell and I will monitor this thread to see how this plays out.
