Time to meridian flip calculation?

here is the log:

the process begins at 10:21:44, when SGP computes that there are 32.75 minutes to meridian flip.
at 10:45:02, autofocus completes (23.3 minutes later)
at 10:46:11, an 1800s exposure begins (24.48 minutes later; there are 8.267 minutes to the meridian)
at 11:16:32, SGP executes the meridian flip. that's 22 minutes past the meridian and as luck would have it, about 2 minutes before the camera would have hit the pier. since i'm running APCC, there would be no pier collision, though everything would come to a grinding halt since APCC would have stopped the mount and locked out all slews.

[ a wider question is - is there an ASCOM mechanism by which SGP could ask the mount where its meridian limit is? APCC allows definition of a "surface" past which the telescope should not track, meaning that the stop RA is a function of the scope's declination. also, there are a couple of places in my rig where the limit is actually before the meridian, which i think is pretty problematic as as far as i can tell i can't tell SGP that the meridian limit is before the real meridian.]

thanks,

rob
