ZWO 224 camera fails to connect via ASCOM - need to reset camera device list

[Update to my earlier post]

ASI ZWO camera ASCOM woes...how do I delete & start over?

The camera works well with its native driver, and is supported by planetary capture apps such as FireCapture or SharpCap.

I would like to use it with Sequence Generator Pro, which only supports ASCOM drivers for ZWO cameras. At some point my ASCOM installation got into a mess, and now the ZWO camera appears twice in the list of cameras in SGP ("ASICamera (1)" & "ASICamers (2)".

Until I messed around with it today, I was able to connect to these cameras, but not capture (it would just hang during "downloading"). The same applied to connecting via ASCOM in SharpCap, so I have ruled out a specific problem with SGP.

I eventually uninstalled the ASCOM drivers & the ASCOM platform, and then had a purge of all working directories related to ASCOM (e.g. ProgramData/Common Files, /Documents) and got rid of lot of entries related to the cameras in the Windows registry.

Maybe this last step was a bad idea, because now I can't even connect to the camera at all via ASCOM. I just get a "ASI camera not detected" error in SharpCap, and something similar in SGP. Despite my efforts to purge all mention of the cameras, both still appear in the drop-down lists of SGP and SharpCap.

Short of nuking Windows and starting over (), does anyone know how I can reset the ASCOM device list and just re-install the ASCOM drivers? Simply uninstalling ASCOM does not do this. Maybe I should also uninstall SGP & SharpCap?

I'd be interesting in understanding how and where the camera settings are stored, and whether there is any kind of admin console for managing ASCOM devices.

Thanks!

John
